UUPer Al Ermanovics of SUNY Buffalo, right, didn’t miss his chance to question Gov. George Pataki about the lack of support for the University. The governor, who had just addressed the NYSUT Representative Assembly during its April convention, failed to mention funding for SUNY or CUNY in his speech – and Ermanovics called him on it. UUP Legislation Chair Patty Bentley of Plattsburgh wasn’t surprised by his persistence: “As a member of the union’s statewide Legislation Committee, Al is always looking after UUP’s agenda.”
