Lyons, a professor of American studies in SUNY Buffalo’s Center for the Americas, participated in a private roundtable discussion for heads of state. Jacobs, founder and director of the university’s Center for Applied Technologies in Education, joined world-renowned primatologist Jane Goodall in several presentations during the 10-day conference.
Faithkeeper of the Turtle Clan, Onondaga Nation, Haudenosaunee, Chief Lyons is internationally recognized as a distinguished spiritual leader of indigenous peoples. He has participated in a number of U.N. forums on the rights and status of indigenous peoples, the environment and sustainable development.
