At the DA: Fighting for dignity

Carmen Julia Silva Aresola knows all about struggle.

Aresola is president and a founding member of the Mexican labor cooperative DURO (Democracy, Unity, Respect for Workers’ Organization) and also helped to organize the Workers’ Center in Rio Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico.

Aresola spoke to UUPers at the Spring DA, where she received a $560 pass-the-hat donation from members and acknowledged their longtime interest in the DURO cause.

“We want to continue working hand-in-hand with UUP because it is only when we are united that we can gain dignity for workers everywhere,” Aresola said.
