Continuing education — William McClure, program director for continuing education and outreach at SUNY Binghamton, was recently elected for a two-year term as president of the Continuing Education Association of New York (CEA NY).

CEA NY is the professional association for all continuing educators from New York state public universities and colleges. CEA NY’s goals are to: provide an exchange of information, ideas and successful program models; provide technical assistance and resource sharing; help strengthen and improve the quality of public continuing education programs in New York state; interact with elected officials and other continuing education associations; and to encourage and facilitate professional development. In his acceptance speech during the CEA NY annual conference, McClure introduced six initiatives for the association to accomplish in the next two years.

McClure develops a wide variety of professional development programs for employees to enhance their on-the-job skills at SUNY Binghamton.

McClure, who earned master’s degrees in both education and business administration, is the recipient of several regional and national continuing education awards.
