The one-day workshop, conducted by the union's statewide officers, also covered: the relationship between committees and UUP's policy-making bodies; committee reports; attendance and organizational leave policies; the role of committee liaisons; and the use of email and list services. Attending, from top down, were: Ed Drummond, Stony Brook HSC, left, and Kiko Franco, Old Westbury; Caroline Bailey, ESF, and Dave Kreh, Cortland; David Dubois, Albany; and VP's Phil Smith, right, and John Marino. Candy Merbler & Nancy GranforsFood drive: Candy Merbler, UUP chapter president at SUNY Albany, accepts a donation of food from fellow unionist Nancy Granfors during a food drive on campus. The Albany chapter, in conjunction with CSEA Local 691, held a three-day food drive to benefit striking families of Finch, Pruyn workers in nearby Glens Falls. The unions collected 300 pounds of food, as well as cash donations for the families. "We wanted to support the efforts of striking workers and this one hits closest to home," Merbler said.
