Tech conference slated for April 19

SUNY Oneonta’s fourth annual conference on teaching and technology is slated for April 19 at the campus’s Morris Conference Center.

This year’s conference — Legal Guidelines for Use of Intellectual Property in Higher Education — is being co-sponsored by The Copyright Society of the USA. According to conference director Janet Nepkie, chair of UUP’s Technology in Education Committee, the conference “will provide an opportunity for educators, administrators and technical staff to build on their knowledge of legal guidelines for copyright and campus responsibilities for Web pages, e-mail and other electronic transmission.”

Topics will include copyright law; ownership of multimedia instruction; licensing of intellectual property; pending legislation for distance learning; and library issues.
