UUP advocates descend on Capitol in June

UUP members gather outside the Capitol in Albany looking over their briefing materials as the prepare for individual meetings with over 30 state lawmakers on June 12.

The UUPers pressed for passage of several bills. Topping their priorities: legislation that would stop any changes in the governance of SUNY’s three hospitals; support for pension equity for employees in the Optional Retirement Plan; and urging approval of unemployment benefits for part-time faculty. The members also asked the senators they visited for speedy confirmation of the governor’s three nominees to SUNY’s Board of Trustees.
