Union delegates also pick other officers, board members
Scheuerman re-elected UUP president -
Albany, May 12, 2005—Representatives to the United University Professions Spring 2005 Delegate Assembly have reelected United University Professions President William E. Scheuerman to a seventh, two-year term in office. Scheuerman is on leave from SUNY Oswego, where he served as a professor of political science.
The nearly 300 delegates meeting here on May 6th and 7th also reelected two other officers to two-year terms:
Eileen Landy, an associate professor of sociology at SUNY College of Old Westbury, was re-elected to a third term as UUP’s statewide secretary; and Edward Quinn, assistant to the chair of the Theatre Arts at SUNY Stony Brook, was reelected to a second term as UUP’s membership development officer.
The following eight members were elected to UUP’s Executive Board:
Harvey Axlerod, a computer discipline officer at SUNY Buffalo;
Patricia Bentley, a librarian at SUNY Plattsburgh;
Weston Kennison, a part-time lecturer in English at SUNY Geneseo;
F. Glenn McNittt, associate professor of political science at New Paltz;
Candace Merbler, a librarian at SUNY Albany;
Robert Rees, an electrical engineering professor at Alfred;
Michael Smiles, a biology professor at SUNY Farmingdale; and
Darryl Wood, a staff associate at the Center for the arts at Binghamton University. -
